Planning your Wardrobe!

where do you even start?!

Tips:

  • Pick one clothing item you LOVE- can be anyone in the family.. then use color/s in that clothing piece to build around for everyone else. Utilizing paint color palettes helps to give inspiration for clothing colors that go well together- and you may find colors that look amazing together you never would have considered! So utilize Pinterest/google and enter <main color/s> + color palette to find ideas!
  • Utilize multiple colors in everyone’s outfits to coordinate and tie together- stay away from neon colors.
  • Pick outfits that everyone is comfortable in. Especially children- they will be happier if they are comfy (and warm!)
  • Add accessories like scarves, hats, sunglasses, necklaces, suspenders, and more for fun layers and to showcase personalities if appropriate.
  • Consider location, time of year, and home decor when picking outfit colors. Soft, natural/organic tones work well for keeping the focus on your family faces and rich, bold tones are fun for pops of colors and bringing out personalities.
  • Plan to dress in layers as fall approaches and the temps can get really cold — plan to utilize cute hats and gloves and sweaters.
  • Don’t forget about shoes! You can coordinate cute comfy shoes, matching shoes, or sometimes even barefoot works with outfits too.
  • Please plan accordingly for children wearing dresses. Be sure to layer bicycle shorts, leggings, tights, bloomers etc under dresses as we definitely like playing around in our session.
  • Want to save some money? Just go straight to your closets and find favorite clothing pieces and you probably have plenty of options that coordinate right there at home- feel free to reach out if you need further help!
